Bongani Ndulula, the former striker for Orlando Pirates, has expressed regret over leaving Kaizer Chiefs in pursuit of more playing time. He admits that in hindsight, he should have stayed and battled for a spot on the team.
Ndulula also reminisced about his rocky stint at Chippa United, where he was unfortunately not given a chance to prove himself. In his words, “At Chiefs, I got to play six to seven games, but every time I had the opportunity, I’d end up getting injured. There wasn’t a line of teams waiting for me when I was at Chiefs, so I asked to be released in hopes of getting more playing time elsewhere. But in hindsight, I should have stayed and fought for my spot instead of heading to Chippa. Unfortunately, I never made it onto the 18-man squad during my entire time there, and I’m still not sure why I never got to play.”
The attacker also revealed his failed trials with Mbombela United in the second division and Polokwane City Rovers, but he remains hopeful and hasn’t announced his retirement just yet. Maybe he’ll get a lucky break soon.
