Foster Shares Excitement on Learning from Kompany & Bellamy

Lyle Foster

Hold on to your soccer balls folks, because we’ve got some exciting news! Lyle Foster, South African international, is still pinching himself at the fact that he gets to work with former Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany, and his assistant, former Liverpool forward Craig Bellamy. They’re all at Burnley, in the Championship.

Now, Burnley must have some big pockets, because they signed Foster from K.V.C. Westerlo in Belgium for a whopping €7 million (and potentially up to €10 million), making it a new record deal for a South African football international.

Foster, a 22-year-old striker, has already played four matches for Burnley and admits he’s still in the adaptation phase of his career at the club – and adapting to the cold weather in England. However, he’s beyond thrilled to learn from the club’s legendary coaches.

“I’m honoured every day to learn from him [Kompany] and also especially with Craig being the great striker he was. I used to watch him when he was with Liverpool – great striker. For me it is about coming here and having an opportunity to work with these legends.”

And we can’t forget about Foster’s supporters in Mzansi, who have fully embraced Burnley as their latest club following the arrival of their beloved player. Foster is delighted by the support and aims to keep the good vibes flowing by delivering on the pitch.

So if you’re not already a Burnley fan, you might want to jump on that bandwagon because they’re currently at the top of the Championship with 69 points after 31 matches played, eight ahead of the second placed Sheffield United. And with a talented squad and the guidance of legendary coaches, the sky’s the limit for this team. Catch their upcoming match against Luton Town on Saturday at 17:00, which will be shown live on SuperSport.
