Saleng gets instructions from his coach during a Carling Black Label cup

Mandla Ncikazi, the Assistant Coach of the legendary Orlando Pirates, has spilled the beans on the team’s aspirations for the season. Despite trailing the log leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns, by a seemingly insurmountable 27 points, Ncikazi remains optimistic. With the PSL title slipping out of their grasp, the Buccaneers have set their sights on a runners-up finish and a spot in the Caf Champions League.

Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs have also set their sights on a return to the Champions League, setting the stage for a scintillating battle between the two traditional giants. With both teams sitting at fifth and fourth respectively, separated only by goal difference, the upcoming Soweto Derby on February 25th at the FNB Stadium promises to be an explosive affair.

Ncikazi, a passionate supporter of the team, has made it clear that Pirates belong in the Champions League, winning trophies and setting records. Injuries have been a challenge, but the team is working hard to overcome them and reclaim their rightful place in the Champions League.

The Soweto giants have shifted their focus to the league campaign, fresh off successful outings in the Nedbank Cup last weekend. They have a good chance of finishing the season in the top two, as they both have four points fewer than second-placed SuperSport United. The Buccaneers host Maritzburg United, while the Amakhosi welcome Golden Arrows to the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.

With 19 league games played so far this season, it’s anyone’s guess who will come out on top in the battle for a Champions League spot. All eyes will be on the Soweto Derby as the Buccaneers and the Amakhosi fight for maximum points and bragging rights. The upcoming fixtures are sure to be exciting, and football fans everywhere can’t wait to see what’s in store.
