The South African FA Cup’s Last 16 draw is gearing up to steal the spotlight as clubs find out who they’ll face in the next round. With 15 teams already securing their place and the Nedbank Cup winner receiving a cool R7 million, the Last 16 stage of the biggest cup competition in South African club football is heating up!
The final Last 32 fixture will take place on Tuesday, with Chippa United facing National First Division side Polokwane City in a battle to join the elite group of teams already in the Last 16. The PSL is well represented, with big guns like Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Orlando Pirates all making the cut, alongside NFD heavyweights Casric Stars and Cape Town Spurs. Meanwhile, the ABC Motsepe League will be represented by Mpheni Home Defenders and Dondol Stars.
The highly-anticipated Last 16 draw will take place on Wednesday at 6 PM at the SuperSport Studios in Randburg, following Chippa United’s game against Polokwane. Unlike last year, when the draw took place 10 days after the Round of 32, this year’s draw is eagerly anticipated!
And the excitement doesn’t end there – with no seeding for the draw, giants like Sundowns, Chiefs, and Pirates could face each other in a thrilling match-up. The first sides drawn will have home-ground advantage, so the anticipation is palpable!
